Saturday School Seminar

Men as Peacemakers offers a series of workshops and seminars throughout the school year specifically designed for teachers. Some of these will be scheduled on weeknights, but most are scheduled for Saturdays.

Series I: Positive Behavior Management in a Restorative School Culture

The following three workshops may be taken separately, or as a package. Graduate credit (.5 per workshop) is available through the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

The Core of Positive Behavior Management

This one-day seminar workshop focuses on the core values of positive behavior management and the necessity of modeling the values we wish our students to emulate. Discussion and role play will aid participants in learning how better to implement these values in their classrooms and in their relationships with their students.

Creating Restorative Culture and Schools that Learn

Teachers and school administrators spend a day exploring the evidence of how entire school communities - students, staff and parents - benefit when schools frame their policies and practice in a restorative paradigm. What does this mean? How do we re-create our school? What do I need to do? These are FAQ that will be addressed.

Circles and Other Classroom Measures for Positive Behavior Management

Hands on, experiential introductions and training in a variety of restorative measures to use in the classroom and as alternative methods of executing school disciplinary policies. This is the third, workshop in Series I: Teaching from a Restorative Paradigm of the Men as Peacemaker's Saturday School Seminar Series. It will be held on two week-day evenings rather than one full day.
