Staff Development Programs - CREATING RESTORATIVE CULTURE
Available to Schools and Other Organizations On A Contract Basis
Transforming an organization’s culture to one that is safe, healthy, welcoming and inclusive are primary outcomes of restorative measures. Research indicates that students attending schools with a restorative culture perform better academically, have higher rates of attendance and fewer incidents of violence and misbehavior then schools operating from a punitive paradigm. In the case of service and business organizations, those functioning within the parameters of a restorative paradigm have shown greater productivity, less employee turn-over, fewer absences due to sick leave and greater overall success than organizations operating from a purely hierarchical model.
Creating Restorative Culture (CRC) programs are designed to enable on-going learning, support and follow-up as people grapple with how to strengthen or shift their paradigm to a restorative one. Men as Peacemakers offers three-day training workshops with a follow-up component, staff-development in-service support programs and conflict resolution services for staff. These programs are useful for schools and other service oriented organizations as well as being of benefit to business organizations.
