Creating Restorative Culture
Available to Schools and Other Organizations On A Contract Basis
Transforming school and classroom culture to one that is safe, healthy, welcoming, inclusive and restorative is the primary result of restorative measures. These programs are designed to enable on-going learning, support and follow-up as teachers grapple with how to strengthen or shift their paradigm to a restorative one. There is a Basic and a Primary Program available.
These programs are designed to enable on-going learning, support and follow-up as teachers grapple with how to strengthen or shift their paradigm to a restorative one. Research indicates that students attending schools with a restorative culture perform better academically, have higher rates of attendance and fewer incidents of violence and misbehavior then schools operating from a punitive paradigm. Transforming school and classroom culture to one that is safe, healthy, welcoming and inclusive are primary outcomes of restorative measures.
Creating Restorative Culture: Pre-Session Overview
Cost: $700
The pre-session overview is a prerequisite for both the basic and primary programs. This program offers a three and a half to four hour overview of restorative school culture: what it is; whether it is important; how it is created; the expected outcomes; and simple tools to try in the classroom. This interactive session is designed to accommodate large numbers of staff participants (up to 50).
Creating Restorative Culture: Basic Program
Cost: $1000
This program meets for one hour, once a week for eight (8) weeks. Sessions are interactive. Topics are selected from those covered in the Primary Program but will be tailored to the needs of the group. Program is limited to six (6) participants.

Creating Restorative Culture: Primary Program
Cost: $1500
For more in-depth learning, the Primary Program meets 12 times throughout the nine (9) month school year. Each session is two to three hours in length. It is recommended that sessions 1 and 2 be incorporated into the preparatory time given to faculty before school commences in the Fall. Program is limited to ten (10) participants.
