DE-STRESS! LIGHTEN UP...
Do exercises to lighten your heart and release any negative residue from the year. You may be assigned to a Lake side treasure hunt, do yoga on the beach at Park Point, be treated to a picnic lunch on the Shore, or even go kayaking!* We recognize that at the end of the school year, teachers can feel pretty wrung out. We hope to provide you the opportunity to rejuvenate. Besides food for your body and soul, we will provide you plenty of food for thought.
*Note: Activities will depend in part on weather conditions.

THEN IDENTIFY THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE...
We will discuss and learn together using the Circle Process, an ancient process of coming together where everyone’s voice is equally important. Within this construct, you will discuss with other participants the changes you want to see in your classroom and in your school and bring awareness to the values you wish your students to emulate. We will examine the values from which we each operate in our relationships with our colleagues and students.
Gandhi said that we must become the change we wish to see happen in our world. Together we will take a good look at what this means in a practical, down to earth way.

AND CREATE CLASSROOMS THAT THRIVE!
Too often we force students to adapt to what is convenient for us as educators, or to spend their time on what we think they need to learn. What if instead we chose to adapt how we do things to the ways the children learn best, allowing them a voice in those decisions, letting them learn about things that matter to them, making what we teach relevant to real life?
Schools that learn begin with mutually respectful relationships between teachers and students. Through reading, videos and discussion, gather practical ideas for re-creating your classrooms into oases of learning.
